The good ’90s.
2 weeks ago, I got myself in a minor accident.
Just like any morning, I was on my way to the LRT station, and I passed this curve (which I pass without hassle every morning.)
Suddenly, I felt myself losing control of the car. What I felt was my left back wheel was lifted off the ground, and my car started spinning clockwise.
Did I mention it was raining just 15 minutes before disaster struck?
Did I also mention that I might have been driving a wee bit fast? Heh.
When my car came to a stop with a loud thud, I realize it was in this position.
My front left wheel was on the divider, and my rear right wheel hit the curb which prevented me from spinning to the other side of the road.
Pretty amazing, considering I managed to avoid hitting any of the trees, and there was minimal traffic that particular morning, when people generally head to their offices. I would have been a goner if there was another vehicle right behind me, as I was facing traffic when I stopped moving.
I literally took my car out for a spin.
The thing about being in a spinning car - You literally feel like time slowed down. No kidding here.
Perhaps it’s God’s way of telling me who’s in charge.
Total damage - 1 totaled rim, broken wheel bearing, a burst tire, and a whole lot of fear nerves.
I’m thankful for His hands, for I know it could have been much worse.

Now for some happy news - Not often a song comes along that literally pulls at your heart strings so intensely. It’s a feeling I can’t really explain, but can only be described as a sudden warmth when you hear the tune and the lyrics.
Here’s one that hit me recently:
This is Malaysian born Zee Avi, and her album’s just out, fresh from the oven. Have a chew on this. ![]()
There was once where I didn’t know what it was like to play for a wedding - Especially someone’s wedding march.
A wedding happens only once in a lifetime (usually, for normal God fearing Christians), and hence, you wouldn’t want to screw up their wedding march.
What’s worse than that? Screwing up your good friend’s sister’s wedding march (Actually, she’s a friend too. :P)
The couple will hate me for life!
10 years down the road, during my wedding march (if I have one), they’ll stand up, and most likely ruin it by saying things like:
“Remember what you did on OUR wedding?” *Holds big huge python in hand, ready to throw it to the crowd.
or
“You! You don’t love her!”
or kidnapping the wedding band on that day, and replacing them with Foo Fighters.

Then again, I wouldn’t mind them being my wedding band.
So, to cut a long story short, all went well, I guess. I didn’t screw up, nor go all Maksim at the reception.

Only one thing - Up ’til this day, I can’t find a tie that matches that shirt!
One of the bands that have a thorough impact on my life is these 5 blokes who call themselves Delirious?

Famous for songs such as “I Could Sing of Your Love Forever”, “Do You Feel the Mountains Tremble?”, “Deeper”, “History Maker”, “Majesty (Here I Am)”, and many more - These songs have been used and sung in churches worldwide, and in the process, touched many lives, transforming them & changing them.
I had the privilege to see Delirious? live personally at Bukit Jalil Stadium back in 2006, and it was AWESOME. No words could be used to describe their live sets - The band was tight, and Martin Smith’s voice was distinct, clear, and angelic.
What I remembered about them was about how down to earth, and humble these guys were. I remembered them saying this (or something like this):
“We never take a tour that will take us more than 2 weeks away from our families. And that’s why we had to turn down so many big offers.”
Guess there things more important than being in a band, right?
Anyway, they have announced that they’re gonna be disbanding at the end of 2009, due to Martin’s commitment to his Compassion Art project. I just hope they drop by these part of town for a gig - That would be a great end to a great band.
Thanks, Delirious?, for years of fantastic music, songs, and being role models for so many aspiring musicians around.
Here’s something for everyone - Delirious?’s Miracle Maker.
